Students will embark on a magical Christmas journey as they attend The Nutcracker ballet, presented by 5678 Dance Studio - and see a couple of our ECC students perform on stage.

The Nutcracker provides an opportunity for an exposure to a traditional artistic practice of dance –ballet – in a format that is more easily accessible to non-habitual ballet viewers than a full-length ballet. In addition, the brief “talkback” component following the performance allows audience members to ask the performers questions in a more accessible manner. This promotes development of artistic literacy with dance where students are encouraged to ask questions about what they have just seen, think about how the performance has been put together and also, become an active participant in an artistic experience with the potential to think about ballet as a performing art and see themselves as viewers of ballet.
