About Us

École catholique Cathédrale is a Catholic French Immersion school for English-speaking students. Every day we provide rich opportunities for all students to listen to, speak, write and read in both French and English. École catholique Cathédrale is not a typical community-based school, since the student population is drawn from the greater City of Kingston in order to participate in the French Immersion Program.

Notre mission est d'apprendre, de réfléchir et d'agir, guidé par l'amour, la justice et l'humilité du Christ.

Our Mission is to learn, think and act guided by the love, justice and humility of Christ.

Amen.

Our home parish is St. Mary Cathedral.

We attend mass there once a month and students in Grade 2 and 8 have the option of receiving the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (Grade 2) and Confirmation (Grade 8) with the Cathedral Parish or their home parish.

The ALCDSB is dedicated to creating and promoting positive school climate and well-being in all of our schools. Respecting the dignity of all persons by fostering trusting relationships through policies and practices that promote equity, inclusion and diversity are at the core of our Catholic values, the Board's spiritual theme of Faith in Action and our provincial Catholic Graduate Expectations. A positive school climate is directly linked to student success and well-being ensuring students are motivated to do well and will realize their full potential. We are committed to sustaining healthy and nurturing communities of belonging that are safe, caring and respectful and built on the principles of restorative practice and progressive discipline.

The ALCDSB and its school communities engage in a whole school approach in putting prevention and intervention strategies in place to facilitate a positive relationship between students, staff, parents and community partners.

École catholique Cathédrale proclaims that all people are created in the image and likeness of God and, as such, have the right to be treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Below are links to our Positive School Climate Plan and the Code of Conduct.
